- Portable Amplifier Allows Professionals to Remain Connected on the Road -

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., Nov. 18 /-Clarity, a Division of Plantronics Inc. (NYSE:PLT), a leading supplier of products for those who experience a hearing loss, today introduced the Clarity CE225(TM) -- a lightweight, portable personal in-line telephone amplifier for people with varying degrees of hearing loss.

The CE225 easily inserts between the handset and base of any corded telephone that has a dial pad located in its base and provides users with up to 28 decibels of amplification. In addition to increasing the volume of incoming sounds, the sleek and ergonomic device also uses patented Clarity(R) Power(TM) technology to make words clearer and easier to understand.

For the millions of people affected by a hearing loss, the CE225 provides a level of freedom many may have thought they lost. By allowing users to easily and quickly attach the Clarity CE225 to most any phone, people are no longer limited to using the telephone in controlled settings where they had access to an amplified telephone.

"With nearly 1 in 2 Baby Boomers experiencing some degree of hearing loss, it is absolutely imperative they have access to easy communication," explained Matt Hutchinson, Director of Marketing for Clarity. "An inability to communicate easily can actually affect a person's ability to earn a living or travel without fear of being unable to conduct business over the phone. The Clarity CE225 can give back the ability to hear phone calls at the office through their digital PBX systems, on a business trip or even at home."

Across the country, millions of employed Americans experience difficulty communicating in their daily work lives, because their phones do not provide adequate sound volume. It's a problem that may not only affect a worker's morale, but also their ability to function to the best of their ability. "We have seen many people who thought they had to leave their jobs because they could no longer communicate with others," said Suzanne Wyatt, Executive Director of The EAR Foundation. "Luckily there are more and more solutions being made available to the Hard of Hearing community that may help them remain active in society."

The device operates with two AAA batteries and provides hours of portable amplification power. The device is also light and compact enough to be carried anywhere a user may want to go.

The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price for the CE225 is $39.95. It may be purchased online at www.clarityproducts.com or through Clarity Authorized Distributors.
