Chicago, IL, September 6, 2006 - Cincinnati Machine will use IMTS as the venue to introduce a new line of Cincinnati horizontal machining centers - the nbh Series. The nbh Series is built upon a proven platform utilizing standard modules complemented by enhanced features to optimize processing of any variety and volume of parts. While new to the North American market, this machine family has a strong track record with over 150 installations worldwide.
The horizontal machining centers are offered with 500 mm and 630 mm pallets with both standard and extended X-Y-Z ranges to accommodate larger work pieces. The headstock is available with a choice of motorized or geared spindles in a variety of tool tapers to achieve superior metal removal rates in processing aluminum and hard metals.
nbh machines feature an extremely rigid, heavily ribbed, one-piece casting with high vibration damping characteristics. This solid platform allows for fast installations with simple three-point leveling. A compact table with either indexing or optional contouring capability includes 4-cone pallet location, integrated pallet clamping, and positive air pressure protection from contamination.
To support high-volume processing, the machines are equipped with a superior chip management system that includes robust spiral conveyors integrated into the machine bed. Backlash free, pre-tensioned roller slides, direct linear scale feedback and digital drives enable stick-slip free axis movements. This provides high rapid traverse and acceleration rates required for volume driven production while maintaining high accuracy positioning.
Along with exceptional standard features, nbh horizontal machining centers can be customized for part specific applications. In addition to flexible configurability, all nbh horizontal machining centers are easily integrated into Cincinnati's well proven CINCRON® cellular systems.
