Chemline Acquires Steelcote Manufacturing

St. Louis, MO - Chemline announces today that it has acquired the assets of Steelcote Manufacturing Incorporated, a manufacturer of high performance epoxy and polyurethane coatings. This information is according to John Henningsen, spokesperson for Chemline.

"Steelcote Manufacturing is company with a long and storied past." Comment Mr. Henningsen. "The company was founded in 1915 in St. Louis, Missouri (USA). In 1926, Steelcote pioneered rubber enamel coatings and they soon became the largest selling automotive brush-applied enamel in the world. That was soon followed by the introduction of Damp-Tex, a wet surface enamel that resists molds and fungus. By the mid-1930's, Steelcote brand products were sold in most countries around the world. Since then, Steelcote also introduced the industry's first waterborne epoxy that eliminates flash rusting." He added.

Today, Steelcote provides various coating and mastic applications for steel and non-ferrous metals, concrete, masonry, polyester fiberglass, glass, wood and glazed tile surfaces. Under the Chemline umbrella, Steelcote will add an extensive line of products that range from heavy-duty floor coatings, to anti-corrosive tank coatings and specialty concrete repair products.

Details of the sale were not released. The Steelcote brand name will continue to be used.
