Chemir Appoints David W. Riggs As President


August 1, 2007, St. Louis, MO - David W. Riggs, PE has taken on the role as President of Chemir Analytical Services. Chemir, a premier analytical chemical testing laboratory, provides material analysis, formulation/deformulation, contaminant identification, failure analysis and patent/litigation support to such industries as polymers, plastics, packaging, paints and coatings, food and beverage, personal care, consumer products, specialty chemicals, semiconductor and high-tech materials and more. David will oversee Chemir's Maryland Heights, MO facility as well as CAS-MI, a division located in Ypsilanti, MI. Both facilities specialize in chemical analysis and materials testing to solve non-routine industrial problems.

Riggs brings over 22 years of leadership experience in the chemical industry. His previous position was with the Anderson Development Company, a specialty chemical producer and distributor. There, he grew net sales 15% in the last 2 years, achieving sales, production and safety goals. He began his career with Dow Chemical, holding various positions in plant management. Riggs earned his Chemical Engineering degree at Michigan State University in Lansing.
