Chemical Test Methods Workshop sponsored by ASTM committee.

January 19, 2011 - Workshop on Chemical Test Methods for B05 Documents, sponsored by ASTM Committee B05 on Copper and Copper Alloys, will be held in Anaheim, CA on April 11. As many of Committee B05's chemical test methods have become obsolete, new ones need to be developed. Attendees will trace reasons for withdrawing current methods and look at what is currently being done in B05 documents. Possible options will be discussed for developing new procedures and test methods as well as necessary protocols.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-A workshop on Chemical Test Methods for B05 Documents will be held on April 11 at the Marriott Anaheim in Anaheim Calf. Sponsored by ASTM Committee B05 on Copper and Copper Alloys, the workshop is being held in conjunction with the April standards development meetings of the committee.

Many of Committee B05's chemical test methods have become obsolete and we need to develop new methods. We will trace the reasons for the withdraw of the current test methods and what is currently being done in B05 documents. We will then discuss possible options for the membership to develop new procedures. New test methods will be discussed as well as the protocols needed to develop a new test procedure. The need for precision and bias testing and ASTM support in round robin testing will also be described.
