Press release date: October 25, 2010

MEADVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 25, 2010) Channellock, Inc., the company known worldwide for manufacturing quality pliers, is proud to announce that it has once again achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification by maintaining the highest of standards in business processes.

CHANNELLOCK® learned this month that its business processes meet the ISO 9001:2008 standard, which is considered a benchmark for quality business processes.

During a four-day process in September, independent auditors inspected CHANNELLOCK® operations and found the company maintains processes that conform to ISO standards. Among their findings, auditors noted the presence of: strong management support for the system; effective document control; well-documented and maintained records for all activities; disciplined processes; knowledgeable and involved associates; strong emphasis on improvements and preventive actions; and experienced and knowledgeable cell operators.

"As we have grown within the system, ISO 9001:2008 has become an everyday part of our business life," said Rick Marendt, quality technician at Channellock, Inc. "Each and every associate is in no small way responsible for this achievement and the successful journey to get here."

Certification to the ISO 9001:2008 standard does not guarantee quality of end products or services; rather, it certifies that formalized business processes are being applied. ISO 9001:2008 is in a family of standards for quality management systems. The International Organization for Standardization maintains ISO 9001:2008, while administration of the standard is handled by accreditation and certification bodies.

In June 1995, CHANNELLOCK® was certified for the first time to ISO standards.
