(Neenah, WI) - A midsized central United States converter recently completed installation of a new S210 Semi-Automatic Core Cutter from Appleton Mfg. Division. The S210 Semi-Automatic is Appleton Mfg. Division's entry level core cutter for customers requiring a low volume of cores. Prior to the purchase, the company had purchased finished cores from an outside vendor.
Procuring the S210 allowed the converter to re-use cores from the raw paper stock they purchased by cutting them in half. With the annual savings from no longer buying outside cores and the affordable cost of the core cutting machine, the payback was less than 6 months. No additional labor was required as the machine operator cuts cores while the laminator is running.
"The project was a win-win as by re-using the salvaged core for our finished stock," says the company's Facilities Manager, "we no longer throw anything in the garbage."
