Caterpillar Inc. Launches Waste Industry Blog as a Forum for Exchanging Ideas

Caterpillar Inc. has launched the first blog for its waste industry group-and for waste industry professionals worldwide. The blog can be described as an interactive forum where engineers, operators and other waste industry participants can exchange ideas and best practices.

"The primary goal of the waste industry blog is to help people in our industry connect with each other around the clock and around the world," said Perry Redman, Marketing Manager Quarry and Specialty Industries (Waste) Division. "By developing this social media to feature blogs written by Caterpillar subject matter experts, we will provide an avenue for the exploration of new technology and trends. This will be a forum to discuss not only best practices, but also addresses real challenges in the field by encouraging peer-generated solutions."

Launched September 14, 2009, the first blog discusses the Waste Industry... Then and Now, where Bill DeBord of Caterpillar outlines the trends he has seen over the past 20 years. This introductory blog outlines many changes seen and opens up the discussion for other industry experts to comment on their own experiences and the changes they see coming.

Past experience purchasing or working with Cat® waste industry equipment is not required to participate in the blog, and there are no registration fees. The waste industry blog can be accessed at https://caterpillar.lithium.com/t5/BLOG-THE-RECYCLE-BIN/bg-p/waste_industry_blog
