Catacel President William A. Whittenberger Elected Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition (OFCC)

GARRETTSVILLE, OH - William A. Whittenberger, President of Catacel Corporation, has been elected Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition (OFCC). He succeeds Lionel Batty, Director of Corporate R&D at GrafTech (Parma, Ohio). Whittenberger was elected to the OFCC Board of Directors in 2009 and served as a Vice Chairperson during the past year.

The OFCC is a united group of industry, academic and government leaders working collectively to strengthen Ohio's fuel cell industry and to accelerate the transformation of the region to global leadership in fuel cell technology.

As Chairperson, Whittenberger brings the experience and leadership necessary to advance the OFCC's guiding principles including: encouraging federal funding that will stimulate commercial development and job creation for Ohio's fuel cell industry; promoting public awareness about fuel cell technology as an efficient and environmentally responsible source of energy and; building upon existing industry and academic strengths to advance the integration of a coordinated, robust fuel cell infrastructure and supply chain. He will also assist with efforts to produce the annual Ohio Fuel Cell Symposium, the premier event for networking and collaboration within Ohio's fuel cell community.

"In the coming years, fuel cell industry design and manufacturing leadership will hinge upon the formation of viable supply chains, the ability to bring products to market quickly and to put systems into service," said Whittenberger. "It is a privilege to have been granted this opportunity to work closely with OFCC directors and members in pursuit of commercial success and job creation for our state."

Whittenberger possesses more than 24 years of design and manufacturing experience with catalyst-coated metal foil substrates. He founded Catacel in 2001 to create and commercialize numerous such solutions for the fuel cell and hydrogen industries. A featured speaker at many national and international venues, Whittenberger will next present "From Innovation to Integration: Forging Strong Supply Chains" at the 2010 Fuel Cell Seminar & Exposition (San Antonio; Oct. 18-21).
