Düsseldorf, Germany/Rocky Hill, Conn., November 17, 2009 - Carsten Tilger has been named the head of corporate communications at Henkel's headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany effective March 1, 2010. As Corporate Senior Vice President he will report directly to Kasper Rorsted, Chairman of the Henkel Management Board. Tilger will succeed Dr. Marcus Kuhnert, who is currently heading Corporate Communications on an interim basis in addition to his function as Chief Strategy Officer.

Tilger holds a Master's degree in economics and has experience as a business journalist. He started his corporate career with Hoechst AG in 1997. In 2000 he became Head of Global Media Relations and in 2003 Head of Corporate Communications of Aventis SA, France. Before assuming the position as Head of Corporate Communications of Syngenta AG, Switzerland, in 2006, he headed Corporate Communications at Kabel Deutschland.
