Carrington and Racing Legend Johnny Rutherford Sign Endorsement and Personal Services Agreement

IRVING, Texas, Feb. 8: Carrington Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ:CARN) announced today it has entered into a one-year endorsement and personal services agreement with racing legend Johnny Rutherford. The partnership provides a platform for Carrington to reach the rapidly growing and attractive racing enthusiast consumer market.
Under the terms of the agreement, Carrington will develop, market and sell a line of personal care products, targeted at racing enthusiasts, under the Johnny Rutherford Tuff-Skin(R) brand. The products will be prominently displayed and promoted on Carrington's new corporate website. In addition to the products, the website will include the biography, statistics and other useful information on Johnny Rutherford. Mr. Rutherford's book Lone Star J.R., the Autobiography of Racing Legend Johnny Rutherford will be available on the website. Additionally, racing fans will receive a free JR Tuff-Skin t-shirt with every purchase through Carrington's newly designed website.

The JR Tuff-Skin(R) line of products includes a hand cleaner, a burn and cut gel and a hand guard to protect and revitalize skin. A new sunscreen will soon be added to the product line. All products are produced at Carrington facilities in Texas. The facilities are ISO certified and produce products under Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as recognized by the FDA.
About Johnny Rutherford
Johnny Rutherford, also known to racing fans as "Lone Star JR", began racing in 1959. During his highly successful career, Mr. Rutherford was the National Sprint Car Champion in 1965 and became a household name with his first Indianapolis 500 mile race win in 1974. He followed that win with victories at Indy in 1976 and 1980. In addition to his Indianapolis 500 win in 1980, Mr. Rutherford also won the US Auto Club Championship and was CART champion. In 1987 Johnny Rutherford was inducted into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame, Motor Sports Hall of Fame of America, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, and Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Today, Johnny Rutherford is the special events director of the Indy Racing League (IRL). Among his duties, Mr. Rutherford drives the pace car at all the IRL events and enjoys working with the rookie drivers.
