Carl Zeiss to Exhibit High Performance Optical and Electron Microscopy Solutions at Pittcon 2011

Carl Zeiss, a leading provider of microscopy solutions, announces that it will be exhibiting a range of high performance optical and electron microscopy products at the Pittcon Conference and Expo 2011, Booths 1353 and 1453, March 13-18, 2011 at the Georgia World Congress Center, in Atlanta, Georgia. The company will be showcasing its Shuttle & Find interface for correlative light and electron microscopy. Also on display will be the Axio Imager 2, an integrated microscope system for correlative microscopy and beyond; the New EVO® HD, a high brightness electron source for unmatched low-kV resolution in a conventional SEM; and the ATLAS(TM), which offers large area imaging for unrivaled productivity.

In addition to product demonstrations, Carl Zeiss will participate in "lunch and learn" sessions, including Correlative Microscopy and Atlas (Mon. - Wed. at 12:00PM); Helium Ion Microscopy for High Resolution Imaging and Nanofabrication (Tues. 12:00PM only); and EVO® HD - High Performance, Total Flexibility (Wed. at 12:00PM only). The lunch and learn sessions will be held at Booth 1353.

The unique new hardware/software Shuttle & Find interface connects light and scanning electron microscopes for correlative microscopy in the life sciences. It enables users to recall regions of interest in fixed specimens in an electron microscope that were previously identified in a light microscope, and vice versa. The entire process takes only a few seconds and opens new dimensions in microscopy, allowing for rapid and precise overlay of light and electron microscope images, high-resolution magnification of the details, and the merger of functional and structural information.

Pittcon is the world's largest annual conference and exposition for laboratory science. Pittcon 2011 will offer the latest technology and instrumentation from more than 950 exhibitors, a diverse technical and educational program, and networking sessions that provide the chance to exchange innovative ideas with scientists from around the world.
