Carl Zeiss Expands Original Equipment Manufacturers Initiative

Thornwood, N.Y. - Carl Zeiss, a leading provider of microscopy solutions for a variety of research, clinical and industrial applications, recently announced a new Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) partner initiative. OEM companies develop and market specialized solutions and imaging systems based on a traditional microscope or highly specialized "black box" optical systems.

Carl Zeiss has been actively engaged with OEM companies for many years, and has proven to be a reliable partner. The new OEM initiative provides additional resources with increased support for partner companies by helping to address technical questions and by making it easier to conduct business with Carl Zeiss.

OEM companies are responding to customers' continued demand for application-specific problem solving solutions based on a very detailed understanding of the underlying application requirements. While Carl Zeiss offers a wide spectrum of such application driven customer solutions for a large segment of the market, OEM companies often develop highly customized solutions for specific niche applications.

In developing these solutions, OEM companies are looking to minimize risks, development time and cost and to bring to market powerful solutions exceeding the target customers' needs and requirements. Carl Zeiss helps OEM companies in optimizing the development process in the following ways:
  • Dedicated and highly experienced US-based OEM Partner Manager.
  • Outstanding optical performance and mechanical design at the component level.
  • Access to proprietary knowledge of optical performance specifications.
  • Access to detailed mechanical drawings, including CAD drawings.
  • Ability to supply custom modifications of standard components when required by the OEM's design criteria.
  • Ability to develop custom objectives, when required by the OEM's optical requirements. With so many Carl Zeiss microscope objectives from which to choose, custom modifications are rarely required.

Carl Zeiss aims to be the preferred component and/or microscope system partner by providing outstanding support and unsurpassed optical and mechanical performance. This will allow OEM partner companies to bring their products to market quickly and successfully, regardless of their specific system solution.
