AUSTIN, Texas, December 13, 2011 - Caringo® Inc., a global leader in object storage, and RainStor(TM), a provider of Big Data management software, today announced a partnership to provide a solution for retaining and accessing structured data in Caringo object storage software powered by CAStor®. The combination allows users to store increasing volumes of structured and semi-structured data from databases, logs and other machine-generated data sources along with unstructured content such as audio, documents, e-mails, images, and videos in CAStor.
The combined solution provides a horizontal platform that enterprises can use to increase efficiency and dramatically reduce the cost of their infrastructure required to retain and manage data. ISVs and service providers can use Caringo and RainStor to offer new data retention services at higher margins, including those delivered via the cloud. The solution is ideal for use cases where database data must be stored with file-based data for long periods of time such as in Financial Services, Communications, Healthcare and Life Science industries.
