Increasingly, machine builders are using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to meet both challenges.  RFID information helps manufacturers enhance product quality while achieving lean manufacturing just-in-time delivery and regulatory compliance.

One such company is Calmation, Inc. based in Simi Valley, CA.  Calmation designs, builds and integrates custom machines for manufacturers in a wide range of industries.

Calmation recently developed an automated assembly workcell to build manufacturing lines that produce high volume of consumer goods and require 100 percent paperless traceability.  This is accomplished using RFID equipped workcells (Radio Frequency Identification Technology).  The machines using this technology produce products more quickly and at a lower cost.  In addition they provide complete traceability of end–user products.
