PFE calender rolls are used to produce many unique finishes, including vellum, eggshell or English finishes on paper. The amount of pressure applied between calender rolls can be set to obtain specified smoothness tolerances. Rollers can be designed to custom specifications using any material, finish or surface treatment to meet particular tolerance, diameter, length, strength and speed requirements. Rolls may be solid, or may be single or double shelled for heat transfer capabilities. Rolls may be of welded construction or be shrink-fit with mechanical seals.
