CacheLogic Appoints Former Salesforce.com Executive as CEO, to Continue Global Expansion

Phill Robinson, former Salesforce.com CMO and COO Sales & Distribution, joins CacheLogic as CEO. CacheLogic is the fastest-moving global provider of online distribution services for large digital assets including Software, Gaming and Video for TV & Movies.

August 6 2007, Cambridge, UK: CacheLogic, provider of the worlds leading Digital Asset Delivery Network, a new generation of CDN (Content Delivery Network) services designed to meet the rich media needs of the 21st century Internet, today announced the appointment of Phill Robinson as Chief Executive Officer.

Spanning 20 years, Phill's experience demonstrates an ability to identify new technology trends and winning companies before they emerge. Phill has worked for some of the most successful technology companies at their early stages of development in Europe, as well as working at a Strategic level in the US. He has been part of the management teams for Oracle, Sybase, Siebel and most recently Salesforce.com.

During his time at Salesforce.com, Phil was a member of the executive management team, initially UK based, aiding the growth of the EMEA business and subsequently based in San Francisco as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Sales and Distribution. Phill has performed roles that include sales, marketing, engineering, product management, business development and alliances.

Commenting on Phill Robinson's appointment, CacheLogic Chairman Tony Illsley said: "Phill has an impressive track record in sales and marketing orientated leadership. CacheLogic will benefit substantially from his commercial approach to developing European software businesses. We are delighted to welcome Phill onto the board in the light of his track record for opening up new technology markets and helping transform earlier stage companies into world class businesses."

Phill Robinson outlined his vision for CacheLogic and for the online content delivery industry as a whole:

"Consumer expectations of the Internet have risen sharply with the proliferation of broadband and Web 2.0. Delivery of rich-media enabled services represent the next major evolution including video on demand, IPTV and online movies, games and software distribution. However the Internet alone cannot cope with the distribution of large digital assets required to support these services with quality of service to the consumer. Traditional content delivery network (CDN) providers also fall short of the mark with economic models and technology designed for when website response time was the problem rather than delivery of large media assets."

CacheLogic provides VelociX - the worlds leading Digital Asset Delivery Network, a new generation of CDN (content delivery network) designed from the ground up to offer unparalleled delivery performance, economics and control for owners of large digital assets including video, audio, software downloads and games.

Phill continued: "The Management team at CacheLogic has done an outstanding job of developing the VelociX network, now for the first time, high-performance delivery of large media assets is available with compelling economics and technology that puts the customer in the driving seat. It's just what this sector needs to achieve escape velocity and I am looking forward to leading the team that makes this happen."
