Auburn Hills MI USA - Medical E-Mail News(TM) / Sept 07 2011 - CJPS Healthcare Supplies & Equipment (http://www.cjps.com) announces the execution of an agreement to provide 33,000 units of its state-of-the-art remote patient monitor, VitalPoint® (http://www.cjps.com/medicalsystems/vitalpointhome), to groups of visiting physicians in the United States.
This contract is a testimonial of the confidence that that the ease of use of VitalPoint® translates into high patient compliance, and validates the partiality that visiting physicians have shown for this breakthrough product. VitalPoint® is a standalone 4.5-lb device that can monitor blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, pulse rate, weight, glucose level, prothrombin time and ratios, temperature, fluid status, and provide electrocardiogram data, and provides the caregiver with the ability to remotely monitor patients' conditions using their own computer, iPad, or cell phone.
This significant contract, worth over $100 million, will have the effect of lowering the cost of healthcare by providing better care, by acting as an early warning system to help detect signs of complications early on. Eight out of ten older adults are living with the health challenges of one or more chronic diseases, ones that are long lasting, incurable, or recurrent.
For these patients, prevention of reoccurrence and health monitoring are critical to their recovery, safety and quality of life, for which remote patient monitoring devices such as VitalPoint®, have been shown to be extremely effective. They can help patients slow progression of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
