CAS DataLoggers Exhibits At DAMOP 2014

Providing Intelligent DAQ Systems for Control of Physics Experiments

CHESTERLAND OH — Right now CAS DataLoggers is at the American Physical Society's 45th Annual DAMOP Meeting (Div. of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics) held in Madison, Wisconsin. CAS DataLoggers Sales Manager Pete Martin has an exhibit at this year's meeting and brings his years of experience supplying intelligent data acquisition solutions to academic and research fields. The centerpiece of this year's exhibit is the ADwin-Gold-II Real Time Data Acquisition and Control System for microscope control and data acquisition in physics experiments including XYZ piezo actuator control, Cold Atoms/Atomic Traps, Atomic Force Microscope/Scanning Probe Microscopes, and Stimulation of Experiments. Ideal for laboratory use with a rugged compact metal housing, this 16-channel system can provide the most demanding applications with precision real time measurement.

Stand alone DAQ

The ADwin-Gold II is a stand-alone, compact real-time data acquisition and control system that includes a fast, local DSP controller and memory, 16 analog inputs, up to 8 analog outputs, and digital I/Os as well as an Ethernet or USB interface for communication with a PC. This enables extremely flexible recording for users' applications.

Additional Functionality

The key advantage of ADwin systems are their tightly-coupled analog and digital inputs along with counters which provide extremely low-latency operation. These devices utilize a modular form factor with plug-in modules to allow up to 480 analog or digital inputs in a single chassis, along with a high-performance 300 MHz DSP processor. We also offer a variety of other I/O options including CANbus, SSI, Profibus/Fieldbus, RS-232/485, and signal conditioner modules.

TiCo Enables Exact Timing

ADwin's independent, programmable TiCo co-processor is extremely precise and processes signal patterns in the nanosecond range, for example to simulate or test interfaces of components. This amazingly fast speed enables precision physical experiment applications.

The ADwin software environment allows online analysis of measurement data and can be used under Windows (2000/XP/Vista/Win7) and Linux, or as a stand-alone data acquisition system. ADwin also has drivers for many popular programming environments including Visual Basic, Visual C/C++, LabVIEW/LabWindows, TestPoint and others. For example users can work with Simulink and Matlab in real time.
