CA Technologies and Fujitsu form Strategic Alliance

New Partnership to Help Assure Service Quality Across the Application Infrastructure and Support Cloud Development

ISLANDIA, N.Y. and TOKYO, Sept. 16 -- CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) and Fujitsu Limited today announced the formation of a strategic alliance that will enhance each company's service assurance product portfolio and cloud computing strategy.

In the initial stage of the alliance, the companies have signed an OEM agreement under which Fujitsu will sell CA Application Performance Management (CA APM) (CA Technologies is named a leader* in Application Performance Monitoring) in Japan, and offer it with their SOA middleware suites and system management software suites. In addition, CA Technologies will offer Fujitsu's Interstage Business Process Manager Analytics product worldwide, as CA Business Process Performance Analytics (CA BPPA), as an add-on option to CA APM.

This partnership enhances the ability of both CA Technologies and Fujitsu to help organizations improve management of heterogeneous enterprise IT environments and dynamically optimize IT supply chains. Using the solutions from CA Technologies and Fujitsu, organizations can launch new cloud initiatives with confidence by gaining comprehensive transaction and business process performance visibility across the application infrastructure. This will help assure that service delivery is meeting end user expectations and business objectives.

"CA Technologies and Fujitsu have a long history of working together to drive new product and services business opportunities," said Chris Cook, general manager of CA Technologies Service Assurance business. "This partnership demonstrates the companies' ongoing commitment to deliver market-driven solutions that solve critical IT and business management challenges, including quality service delivery and end-user experience management."

"The combination of CA Technologies and Fujitsu products will make both companies' IT and business solution offerings more comprehensive and competitive," said Masato Nitta, president of Fujitsu's Middleware Business Unit. "CA APM proactively pinpoints and resolves performance problems with key IT services in real time to assure the consistently high service delivery levels customers demand. Fujitsu Interstage Business Process Manager Analytics complements CA APM by correlating and translating application performance problems into business and business process contexts."

CA APM will help Fujitsu customers to anticipate and quickly identify the root cause of transaction performance issues, and then resolve the most important problems first to help assure IT is delivering the highest service levels possible. By combining CA APM and Fujitsu middleware suites, Fujitsu will be able to provide a holistic IT management solution for physical, virtual and cloud environments.

CA BPPA will enhance the CA Service Assurance portfolio by expanding its capabilities into business process performance management and business activity monitoring. The product will help customers improve agility by providing broader and deeper insight into the performance of business processes, services, applications and transactions, and the quality of the end user experience. CA BPPA will help line of business managers and application owners to optimize business process performance, manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) proactively, resolve business-impacting issues quickly, and assure consistently high service delivery levels in all environments, including cloud.
