Subminiature through-hole switches available in variety of configurations, orientations...

NEWTON, MA (March 17, 2008) - C&K Components, a leading international supplier of tact switches, toggle, rocker and pushbutton switches, and smart card interconnect devices, has developed new versions of sealed through-hole subminiature tact switches. Designated the KSA family, the tact switches consist of the KSA, KSL, KSB, KSI, KSFI, KSJ and KSD devices. The switches are available in a variety of configurations, including vertical and right angle mounting, top or side actuated and with a soft or hard actuator.

"We've taken the KSA switch series with its proven reliability and added sealing, among other new features, to make it suitable for a wider range of applications," said Eric Grange, product market manager for C&K Components. "Through the use of new plastic materials combined with our sealing capability, the KSA series is ideal for detect and other demanding environmental applications."

The sealed KSA tact switches can be configured for harsh environment applications and can be adapted for different PC board thicknesses.

Ideal for automotive, consumer electronics, industrial and telecom networking applications, the RoHS-compliant tact switches have a life expectancy up to 1,000,000 operations and feature an actuation force from 1.5N to 5N, including detect version with silver and gold coatings.

The KSA family of switches meets ISO9001/14001 and TS16949 standards.

Typical pricing for the KSA family of tact switches ranges from $0.16 to $0.50 in quantities of 10,000 pieces. Lead time is from 4 to 10 weeks.
