Press release date: July 11, 2007

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 11 / / -- Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in multi-service optimization solutions for mobile data networks, today announced the launch of its new Unison(TM) Media Fidelity(TM) Service. This is the first carrier-grade, commercial infrastructure solution designed to adapt and optimize multimedia content for mass-market mobile handsets, without client software downloads or device changes. Implemented on Bytemobile's Unison Multi-Service Platform within the network, the new service will enable operators to deliver high-quality Internet video, user-generated content and branded media to subscribers on all mobile devices with standard media players.

Unison Media Fidelity Service will support handset access to video on demand and streaming video in all formats, while adapting the content to device and media player capabilities. Operators will be able to optimize their existing portal video services and offer subscribers a full range of Internet multimedia content, including music and TV. The same mobile phones whose digital cameras are being used to capture user-generated content for websites such as YouTube and MySpace will now enable users to view all content on those sites.

"We are helping our customers to deliver the best possible user experience, driving data service adoption and growing average revenue per user (ARPU)," said Adrian Hall, Bytemobile vice president of Marketing and Business Development. "Following the launch of our Unison Web Fidelity(TM) Service earlier this year, the new Media Fidelity Service extends Unison handset solutions beyond full-HTML Internet to PC-quality video. The Unison architecture makes it easy for the operator to deliver a rich experience and even easier for the mobile consumer to enjoy it."

Hall added that carriers deploying Unison Media Fidelity Service with other Unison Internet protocol (IP) services, such as the Unison Web Fidelity Service, will have the opportunity to capitalize on the explosive growth of mobile web and video by providing a seamless experience to their subscribers.

"Bytemobile's Media Fidelity Service is a natural follow-on to its Web Fidelity Service launch and a welcome addition to its Unison solution," said Peter Jarich, research director at Current Analysis. "The ability to deliver full web and video services to inexpensive mobile devices -- with consistent quality, but without clients or plug-ins -- holds the promise of bringing mobile web usability to the masses and growing the value of the Unison platform."

Optimizing the User Experience

Through a proprietary technology called dynamic bandwidth shaping, Unison Media Fidelity Service will continuously monitor network conditions, and dynamically adapt video and other rich multimedia content in order to optimize the user experience. This technology will minimize buffer time, pauses and other latency effects for the subscriber, thereby eliminating the frustration historically associated with mobile video access. It will also protect the operator's network from service degradation or outages due to bandwidth constraints.

Unison Media Fidelity Service (http://bytemobile.com/products- solutions/unison-multimedia-optimization.html) is scheduled to be available for commercial deployment worldwide on the Unison Multi-Service Platform in October 2007. The platform's open architecture accelerates operators' time to market for new data services by fully integrating multiple IP services on a single node in the core data path of the network. The Unison platform monitors all data traffic, inspecting packets once and selectively applying IP services as needed.

In addition to the new Media Fidelity Service, the integrated suite of Unison IP services includes:

o Unison Web Fidelity Service for delivering open Internet access on affordable feature phones without client downloads or device changes o Unison ACCESS Mobile(TM) Content Filtering Service for providing parental controls on web and multimedia access by children under 18 o Unison Optimization Service for improving network capacity and performance, and reducing total cost of ownership o Unison WAP Gateway Service for optimizing mobile access to operators' branded portal content on Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) handsets

The Unison platform also supports third-party solutions for mobile data services, which are easily integrated within the Unison open architecture. Together, all of these services enable network operators to deliver multimedia content from across the open Internet to a mass audience -- quickly, safely, efficiently, and economically.
