Industry's Leading Business Intelligence Provider Brings Advanced Reporting and Dashboard Solutions to Salesforce.com Customers
salesforce.com Dreamforce Conference
SAN FRANCISCO--Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ) (Euronext Paris ISIN code: FR0004026250 - BOB), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, and salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM), the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, today announced new Business Objects reporting and dashboard capabilities available on AppExchange for salesforce.com customers. New connectivity between Salesforce and Business Objects empowers customers to create sophisticated Crystal reports with data in their Salesforce applications and share reports over the web with authorized users. In addition, Business Objects is announcing a beta version of business widgets on AppExchange which will extend users' ability to easily interact with Salesforce data and measure business performance directly from their desktop.
"This announcement shows our continued momentum as the leader in on demand business intelligence," said Steve Lucas, vice president of strategic markets at Business Objects. "Business Objects understands that today's customer expects to get information with just the click of a mouse. A key to reaching this goal is to continue developing easy-to-use on demand BI which customers can use in everyday applications. Deepening our relationship with salesforce.com brings customers closer to the information they need to better understand their customers and improves sales effectiveness. We're making it easy for organizations to access BI directly within Salesforce via the AppExchange."
"We share a vision with Business Objects of making business information and applications available on demand to anyone, anywhere in the world," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO at salesforce.com. "Business Objects has a strong tradition of simplifying business intelligence and providing powerful, easy-to-use BI solutions. Our continued partnership brings the power and ease of Crystal Reports, the industry standard in reporting, to the entire on-demand salesforce.com community."
Deeper Integration of Crystal Reports and Salesforce Simplifies Reporting Today Business Objects introduces enhanced connectivity between crystalreports.com, the leading on-demand report sharing service, and salesforce.com on-demand applications. This integration enables customers to view and refresh reports directly inside Salesforce and allows users to easily and securely distribute reports online. To view, refresh, share, and schedule reports, authorized users simply click on the tab marked "crystalreports.com" within the Salesforce interface.
This integration between Salesforce and crystalreports.com also enables customers to view Crystal reports created with Salesforce data alongside Crystal reports based on other data sources. By bringing all Crystal reports -- regardless of the data source -- into crystalreports.com, customers can conduct side-by-side comparisons. Providing customers with one place to view all their Crystal reports gives customers more holistic insight into their overall performance.
Business Objects has also delivered a new connector between Crystal Reports XI and Salesforce that allows customers to design Crystal reports that draw on any Salesforce data. Using this connector, along with Crystal Reports XI, customers can create powerful, flexible reports within Salesforce. In addition, customers will have access to pre-built reports including pipeline forecasting, sales by geography and product segmentation. Crystal Reports has been the de facto reporting standard for over a decade. Now all salesforce.com customers can leverage the world's leading reporting solution across their CRM deployments.
New Business Widgets from Business Objects Enable Real Time Access to Salesforce Data
Business Objects is also announcing new business widgets for salesforce.com customers. Widgets are small graphical windows that act as a desktop portal for customers to enter, retrieve, and measure data from Salesforce. Business widgets will help salesforce.com customers reduce the time needed to complete everyday tasks such as: add sales opportunities, track closed revenue, look up contacts, spot neglected leads, and monitor key sales metrics. Because widgets maintain connectivity to Salesforce, they can be instantly refreshed with Salesforce data. These widgets were created using Crystal Xcelsius, the leading data visualization software for creating interactive presentations and business dashboards from Business Objects.
Availability Crystalreports.com for salesforce.com and the Crystal Reports connector are generally available now and can be purchased via the salesforce.com AppExchange. For more information, please visit: www.crystalreports.com/salesforce.
A beta version of the business widgets from Business Objects is scheduled to be available to salesforce.com customers in late Q4 via the salesforce.com AppExchange.
