Bull Metal Products wins "Green Circle Award"

The department of Connecticut Energy and Environmental Protection has nominated Bull Metal Products as a recipient of the 2012 awards program. Through lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, Bull Metal has improved and developed processes throughout our facility. Our company had the privilege of receiving this award on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Bristol-Meyers Squibb located in Wallingford, CT.

Bull Metal has purchased a new Parts Washer which is more efficient and has saved 9% in water consumption from the previous machine. In addition, utilizing a Profi-Pack Machine to reuse corrugated as packaging material, landfill pollution has been reduced by 12% and now creates a procurement process for corrugated overages. All natural gas heaters in the facility have been outfitted with Timer/Temperature controls to automatically shut off during off hours. This has reduced natural gas costs by 10%. Bull Metal has assigned a Total Quality position that includes quality of parts and quality of the environment. Bull Metal has a partnership with Leanovations to pursue “Lean to Green” initiatives. Our ISO 9001:2008 certification process has developed continual improvement within the facility along with a future goal towards ISO:14001.
