Building Systems R&D Manager Appointed to ICRI TAC Committee


Frank Apicella to represent BASF with three year term on ICRI Technical Activities Committee

SHAKOPEE, MN, February 23, 2009 -- Frank Apicella, R&D Manager for BASF Construction Chemicals, has been appointed to a three year term on the Technical Activities Committee (TAC) of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI). Apicella's term began Jan. 1, 2009.

The TAC is responsible for development, dissemination and maintenance of technical information for ICRI members, customers and industry professionals. This includes oversight of all ICRI technical committees, the technical content of convention programs and review of technical documents prior to publication.

Apicella has been a member of ICRI for 13 years and is the previous chair of the Coatings and Waterproofing committee. He has more than 20 years of industry experience in the concrete repair and protection industry, including research and development, manufacturing, and technical service of grouts, adhesives, coatings, flooring and concrete repair materials. In addition to ICRI, he is an active member in the American Concrete Institute, Society for Protective Coatings, National Association of Corrosion Engineers, American Chemical Society and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
