Exploring Packaging Line Integration Techniques

Rockwell Automation

Packaging lines are often made up of varying equipment types containing disparate control systems, programming styles, and performance data, even when industry standards such as ISA-88 and PackML are followed. This makes integration of these assets into line control and line performance systems a challenge. While most manufacturers strive to continually optimize their production, integration of new packaging line assets is often a time consuming and costly task. Learn how new line integration concepts and technologies are enabling manufacturers to acquire machines with pre-tested equipment control and information interfaces that integrate seamlessly with a flexible line control and performance management system.

Don’t Waste Your WAGES

Rockwell Automation

Learn how by leveraging your existing automation, information and power control investments, you can make your operations more energy efficient and profitable. By monitoring, analyzing, visualizing, controlling and optimizing WAGES (water, air, gas, electricity and steam) resources, many companies are now using less energy in their facilities and operations – enabling an optimized approach to energy resource consumption and supply.

Efficient, Precise Motion Control with Linear Motion

Jacobs Automation

Hear about how emerging linear motor based intelligent track (iTRAK®) technology is changing application solutions across the industry. This session will look at the evolution of the iTRAK® system by Jacobs Automation. While previous motion control systems have been constrained by mechanical limitations like the pitch of a chain or the speed of a particular line, iTRAK® makes it possible to place multiple movers (or carriages) on a track and independently control the motion profile for each mover as a virtual axis. Learn how machine builders are able to increase the speed and flexibility of their products and reduce their design and assembly costs, while end users experience dramatically increased productivity with higher throughput, faster changeovers and lower maintenance."

The Critical Success Factors & ROI of Deploying Mobility on Your Plant Floor

Motorola Solutions

A recent study by Gartner uncovered that the #2 highest priority of Manufacturing CIOs through 2015 is mobility. But what are the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) for a mobility project on the industrial plant floor, and how can you establish a compelling enough ROI to move forward among other efforts competing for the same set of limited resources? In this session, executives from Motorola Solutions and a leading Rockwell Automation OEM Partner join forces to discuss key considerations for successfully justifying and launching an industrial mobile solution for your operators and technicians. Together they will review a few real-life examples from leading manufacturers who have recently embraced the power of mobility on their plant floor to demonstrate the incredible payback that can be achieved when extending the reach and accessibility of vital information.
