BENSENVILLE, Illinois - Boise Inc. (NYSE: BZ) Label & Release announced today the addition of recycled content products and chain of custody certification to Boise's market leading portfolio of release liners and label facestocks. This new product announcement is a component of Boise's strategy to grow specialty and premium papers driven by packaging related demand and to build on Boise's tradition of environmental stewardship.

"Our research covering the pressure sensitive supply chain from label printer/converters to packaging designers and brand owners revealed that recycled fiber content and chain of custody certification have the greatest impact on purchase probability and are the two most cited attributes industry participants plan to include in their sustainability action plans."
Boise's targeted sustainability offering builds on the inherent renewability of paper and the foundation of Boise's broad environmental sustainability practices. The new product offerings include chain of custody certifications by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), and the Programme for the Endorsement Forestry Certification (PEFC). Boise's participation in the Chicago Climate Exchange and the EPA's Energy Star Program also highlights the company's commitment to sustainability.
Boise facilities that manufacture pressure sensitive papers have achieved ISO 14001 compliance and are Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Procurement Certified. Additionally, this portfolio of products will extend SFI and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certification to customers. Chain of custody certification is achieved through tracking and documenting raw materials from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing, and distribution.
