Bodycote Thermal Processing has recently purchased an AFC-Holcroft E-Z Series 13500 cfh endothermic generator for installation in their plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA.
The modular design of the E-Z Series generator enables multiple units to be integrated for higher capacity atmosphere generation. In this case, an array of (3) 4,500 cfh systems are integrated together to provide the needed capacity while requiring less floor space than 3 stand-alone units.
The atmosphere produced by the E-Z Series generator, when enriched with natural gas, is suitable for gas carburizing and carbon restoration of the low and medium carbon steels. The addition of ammonia to the atmosphere will create a suitable atmosphere for carbonitriding. The atmosphere, as generated, may be used for clean annealing, normalizing and hardening of all carbon steels.
