WEST FARGO, N.D. - July 2007

Operators of Bobcat® medium-frame loaders can now travel faster and get more work done with optional two-speed travel from Bobcat Company, a business of Ingersoll Rand. Continuing to lead the way in compact equipment innovation, the company now offers nine skid-steer loader models with optional two-speed travel.

The two-speed option boosts the loaders' top travel speed by as much as 57 percent and is an absolute timesaver for customers who transport materials, travel to multiple jobsites within a residential subdivision or large commercial area, or who perform snow removal at airports, schools, universities and resorts.

For the first time, it is available on medium-frame Bobcat skid-steer loader models S150, S160, S175, S185 and S205. With the two-speed option, skid-steer loader models S150 through S185 have travel speeds of 7.5 mph in low range and 11.1 mph in high range. For the S205, the travel speeds are 7.2 mph in low range and 10.7 mph in high range.

The option also allows operators to shift on the fly between low and high travel speeds with a simple fingertip toggle switch located on the loader's control handles.

Bobcat representatives say the option will be especially beneficial to customers in the agricultural market who frequently transport bales and feed across a large farm. In colder climates, snow removal contractors will find the high-range speed enables them to plow snow faster because the increased momentum and snow work together, resulting in the snow rolling better off the side of the blade.

Two-speed travel was already available on Bobcat large-frame skid-steer loaders (models S220 through S330).

The widely known Bobcat brand includes an extensive line of powerful, nimble compact construction equipment and attachments and state-of-the-art engineering capabilities.
