SAO PAULO, November 29, 2010 - Bluestar Silicones has just started its new manufacturing unit for Silicones fluids in its Santo Andre plant. This new unit based on state of the art manufacturing technology for Silicones fluids will enable Bluestar Silicones to have a versatile & larger local production base for all Latin & South American customers using silicones Fluids.
Silicone Fluids are present in many applications and undergoing strong growth. Silicone PDMS Fluids are used in numerous applications including lubricating, textile softening; home & personal care, among others.
Doubling of capacity and an opportunity for the Santo Andre site
With a co-leader position onto the Brazilian market, Bluestar Silicones has experienced a double digit growth in the zone year after year in the past 5 years and is continuously investing into additional technical, marketing & manufacturing resources to support local growth with local products, while benefiting from worldwide technology & development networking.
This new unit is doubling existing capacity for Silicone fluids. This investment represents also a strong sign for the development of the Santo Andre site, and illustrates the Bluestar Silicones ambition in Latin America Zone.
