Bluestar Silicones Showcases Foam Control Additives at Plastics Recycling Conference in New Orleans

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J.- Bluestar Silicones will showcase its domestically-produced line of SILCOLAPSE(®) brand foam control additives at the Plastics Recycling Conference at the Sheraton New Orleans, March 19-20.  Bluestar Silicones' technical experts will be on-hand at booth #800 to demonstrate the foam additives' knock-down capabilities in plastics and recycling wash systems.

The SILCOLAPSE 600 series foam control products are available in a range of dilutions to meet customer-specific anti-foaming needs.  These water soluble additives effectively control foam at concentrations as low as 10 ppm solids, even at elevated temperatures and under pressure. These products also are effective at a wide range of pH levels, particularly alkaline conditions.

"We are excited about the introduction of our SILCOLAPSE foam control additives into the North American market," said Roman Radekevich, North American specialty fluidsmarket manager.  "Now, with domestic production, these high-quality products are readily available to meet the performance requirements for the North American market.  And, with local capability, Bluestar Silicones can customize these additives to meet specific application requirements."

SILCOLAPSE 600 series is designed for industrial applications, such as oil and petroleum, textiles, pesticides, pulp and paper, plastics recycling, synthetic rubber processing, wastewater treatment, and sea water distillation.

The company also produces a line of SILCOLAPSE 700 series, which are compliant with 21 CFR 173.340 Defoaming Agents and other Indirect Food Additives sections of 21 CFR. Typical examples include rendering-edible oil manufacturing, synthesis of food additives, fermentation, and processing of seafood, potatoes, and freeze-dried products.

Bluestar Silicones operates a 226,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility located in York, S.C., which is home to all North American manufacturing and R&D activities.  Bluestar Silicones produces an extensive range of silicone technologies in York, including liquid silicone rubbers (LSRs), high consistency rubbers (HCRs), room-temperature vulcanized silicones (RTVs), fluids, dispersions, release coatings, specialty fluids, resins and antifoam, marketed under its Silbione®, Silcolease®, Silcolapse®, Lyndcoat®, and Bluesil™ trade names.  For more information, please call (866) 474-6342.
