Blue Giant Exclusive Distributor of Big Joe Equipment in Canada
Brampton, ON, Canada (January 2011) - Blue Giant Equipment Corporation has entered into a strategic partnership with Big Lift LLC to exclusively distribute the Big Joe brand of material handling equipment in Canada.

New product development is a key operating strategy for both companies. In 2010 Blue Giant launched its U-series air cylinder and airbag dock levelers to supply a growing demand for eco-friendly, energy-efficient loading dock equipment. (Gregory Ion, Vice-President of Engineering and Product Development, confirms that more Blue Giant air-powered dock products will be on the market later this year.) Big Joe by Blue Giant will be pursuing an aggressive new launch plan for the line of AC material handling products.
The Big Joe by Blue Giant brand of equipment includes the WPT-45 electric pallet truck, and the PDS electric straddle truck. Both are AC-powered, which improves performance and reduces maintenance requirements compared to traditional DC-powered motors.
"The Big Joe by Blue Giant material handling equipment will boost productivity," says Gregory Ion. "There are no carbon brushes to monitor and replace, so the end user experiences less downtime due to maintenance needs."
The Blue Giant and Big Joe brands enjoy a loyal customer base and industry-wide recognition. Blue Giant began in 1963 as a manufacturer of dock levelers and hand pallet trucks, and progressed over the years into a trusted provider of easy-to-use yet technologically advanced dock equipment. Big Joe was founded in 1950, and its forklifts quickly became a mainstay in U.S. factories and warehouses. In 2009 the Big Joe brand and manufacturing facility were sold and re-organized into a new company, Big Lift LLC, which is taking its line of industrial vehicles to the next level.
Miller confirmed that the Big Joe equipment will be branded and marketed in Canada as Big Joe by Blue Giant. "It's a connection both companies are proud of," he says.
