SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 5, 2007 - Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BCSI), a leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that it has been awarded "Security Vendor of the Year" in the CRN Australia Channel Champion Awards for 2007. The award reflects the popularity and esteem Blue Coat has achieved among resellers, distributors and customers. Throughout Australia and the rest of the world, Blue Coat Systems is known for its combination of security, policy control, and application acceleration for large and mid-sized organizations.
Blue Coat Systems was selected over Symantec and Trend Micro for the "Security Vendor of the Year" Award. The criteria for winning the award is "channel friendliness, focusing on quality of products, customer service, margins for resellers and how easy each item or service is to sell." The award was decided by the local and international CRN team and consulting industry experts. CRN called Blue Coat the fastest growing security vendor with a protected channel model and great margins in prime deals as well as renewal and service attachment which is rare in the security space.
