SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 27 -- Blue Coat Systems (NASDAQ:BCSI), a leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that the company has been named a finalist in Info Security Products Guide's Global Product Excellence Awards and Silicon Valley Communications' Hot Companies Awards. Info Security Products Guide has named the Blue Coat® ProxySG® appliances a finalist for the 2008 Global Product Excellence Awards in two categories - Excellence in Security Solution for Enterprise and Excellence in Web Filtering Solution.

Info Security Products Guide's Global Product Excellence Awards recognize security and IT vendors that have advanced, ground-breaking products and solutions and that help set the standard for others in all areas of technology. The ProxySG appliance was voted a finalist in a vote of more than 11,000 voters worldwide, consisting of end-users, channel partners and readers of Info Security Products Guide. Vendors themselves were not permitted to vote for their products.
The Silicon Valley Communications 2008 Hot Companies Award recognizes companies for excellence in information technologies including security, wireless, storage, networking, software and communications. The Hot Companies 2008 evaluation process assessed candidates for entrepreneurial spirit, seasoned executives with relevant experience, clear understanding of the segment of IT market where they are currently active and plan to stay active, products and solutions that are positioned to take advantage of emerging market opportunities, well developed revenue-growth model and clearly planned expansion strategies.
Both the Info Security Product Awards and the Hot Companies Award will be honored on January 2008 at Technosium 2008 in Santa Clara, Calif.
