Bird® Technologies Group, a leading manufacturer of RF measurement and management equipment based in Ohio, recently launched the newest addition to its product line - the Transmitter Power Monitor (TPM). The TPM works with both analog and digital transmitters and provides NIST traceable measurement of power delivered by a broadcast transmitter.

The TPM was created in response to the broadcast industry's imminent changeover from analog to digital signals. The analog shut-off date is fast approaching and much of the broadcast market finds itself under pressure to be ready in time. The TPM will help broadcasters successfully make the switch while still enjoying all the benefits of Bird innovation. There is no other broadcast power monitor on the market today that offers in-situ calibration.

The TPM measures true average power, both forward and reflected, with a ±5 percent of reading accuracy. Ideally suited for digitally modulated applications, it handles a peak-to-average ratio up to 10 dB. Its integrated non-directional coupler allows for spectral analysis of the signal, while the DB9 output allows for a wide variety of interface options. An 8-channel meter panel, capable of displaying forward and reflected power at various system measurement points, is also available. The TPM is the first power measurement solution that can be calibrated in-line and on-site - eliminating downtime and facilitating more precise measurements.

Bird® Technologies Group is a global, innovative supplier of RF products, systems, services, and educational solutions. Combining the industry leading brands of both Bird Electronic and TX RX Systems in one company reinforces the BTG commitment to providing RF Measurement and Management in Your World.
