Solutions and Technologies Aligned to Market Needs

Durham, N.C. - Bell and Howell today announced the repositioning and rebranding of its inserting and inveloping product portfolios. The new product series will allow customers to quickly identify solutions that match their needs.

"While the basic productivity and quality needs of mailers are similar, there are unique requirements that vary across our market segments," said Gordon Galloway, director of product marketing at Bell and Howell. "These new product series feature new technologies and align with our customers' environments."

The four new product families include the Producer Series(TM), Forerunner Series(TM), Ascender Series(TM) and Inveloper Series(TM).

The Producer Series' primary application is within commercial environments with the requirement to produce high volumes of mail and efficiently handle a wide variety of material types and sizes. The P16, P18 and P22 products process at cycle speeds of 16,000, 18,000 and 22,000 mailpieces per hour. All Producers are equipped with standard rotary feeders and have a variety of enclosure-handling options including friction, shuttle and reverse-rotary feeders.

The Forerunner Series incorporates the next generation of Bell and Howell gripper-arm technology - a technology that has become the industry's most used inserting platform due to its flexibility. The Forerunner's simplicity, flexible material handling, integrity and low cost per piece have made it the best gripper-arm system available. The F13 is the first in this series and includes increased processing speeds of up to 13,000 mailpieces per hour, and an improved and more efficient design for easier operating.

Ascender Series solutions are designed primarily for transactional-class mail processing demanding the highest possible accuracy and tracking capability. The A14 incorporates Bell and Howell's swift changeover design and processes both letters and flats at up to 14,000 and 9,000 insertions per hour, respectively. Also included in the Ascender Series is the Turbo 8G. This eighth generation Turbo incorporates new design innovations and functionality to yield increased uptime and higher processing efficiencies. Bell and Howell will be holding a technology preview of the new A30, an ultra-high-speed letters inserter that processes mail at up to 30,000 insertions per hour, at GRAPH EXPO, Sept. 11 through Sept. 14 in Chicago.

The Inveloper Series is designed for digital color/transpromotional applications demanding high operational efficiency. Inveloper users will experience dramatic cost savings from reduced material usage and ultra-high-speed production. The I20 and I30 process mail at up to 20,000 and 30,000 pieces per hour. A variety of inkjet printers can be integrated to perform basic read-and-print address applications, or transform white paper to full-color mailpieces.

All Bell and Howell inserting and inveloping solutions can be integrated with the new JETVision Navigator(TM) user interface and control system, JETVision® reading solutions, cut-sheet and continuous-form input channels, and connectivity options for Bell and Howell's IQ Series(TM) and other ADF solutions.

"Even though our solutions are well equipped for each customer's primary application or environment needs, all of our systems have the scalability to process any type of mail with high efficiency," stated Galloway. "This capability enables our customers to be agile as their business needs and applications change."
