Bell & Gossett Little Red Schoolhouse® Instructor Earns LEED® Accredited Professional Designation


Morton Grove, IL - August 13, 2009 - Larry Konopacz, Manager of Training and Education at ITT Bell & Gossett's Little Red Schoolhouse® in Morton Grove, Illinois, has passed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED® Accredited Professional examination for New Construction v2.2 and is now a LEED AP.

Konopacz joined ITT in 1983 and has served in a variety of training, engineering and manufacturing capacities there during the past 26 years. In 2008, Konopacz was named Manager of Training and Education. He is an ITT-certified VBSS Black Belt and Lean Master. He earned BS and MS degrees in Industrial Technology at Western Illinois University, and an MBA at DePaul University in Chicago.

LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. LEED AP's have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles as well as the LEED Rating System.

The Professional Accreditation program is administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). GBCI was established with the support of the U.S. Green Building Council, and is responsible for AP exam development and delivery to allow for objective, balanced management of the credentialing program.
