Press release date: June 27, 2011

Livonia, Michigan - Beaver Aerospace & Defense, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacturing of unique and broad-range actuation technologies, announced today that it will supply the electromechanical flap actuation system for the Skylander SK-105 aircraft. Conceived by Sky Aircraft, the Skylander SK-105 is a next generation twin turboprop, designed for flexibility, reliability and economy. Sky Aircraft is a GECI Aviation company, which is a subsidiary of French-based GECI International.

CS23/FAR23 certified in the commuter category, the SK-105 is the ideal utility transporter servicing remote areas with exceptional range between fuelings, short take-off and landing distances and the capacity to exploit unpaved runways. Capable of operating in difficult climatic conditions and hostile environments, the Skylander maximizes payload and flight range to satisfy the growing needs of developing and isolated regions.

Beaver Aerospace & Defense designs and develops electromechanical actuators (EMAs) for customers whose applications are rigorous, environment is demanding, and with short schedules and low cost targets. Earlier this month, Beaver announced an agreement with Piper Aircraft to supply its flap actuation system for the PiperJet Altaire.

"Beaver is excited about the opportunity to work with Sky Aircraft and GECI Aviation," said Lee Pichan, Sales Director at Beaver Aerospace & Defense. "The flawless performance of our electromechanical actuators, along with our industry-leading on-time delivery, made this relationship a win-win situation."
