Solon, Ohio...Bardons & Oliver, a leading manufacturer of tube and bar cut-off equipment and CNC turning systems for almost 120 years, recently hosted two Open House events to present new machinery and technology to customers and distributors. The two events were designed to show customers that even in challenging economic times, there is equipment that can help increase productivity and produce quality parts while working in a "lean" environment.
At the September 15th Open House, guests, including customers and distributors, watched a demonstration of the RH-800 "Lean" Rotating Head Cut-off Machine changing from 6" O.D. material to 4" O.D. material.
Vern Fabry, B&O Product Manager, said, "If there was one thing about the Rotating Head Machine that visitors walked away with after the demo, it had to be the complete machine size adjustment at the push of a button. Short set-up times are critical in today's small lot runs. Our Rotating Head Cut-Off Machines provide that and more."
Attendees at the first Open House also were able to review the capabilities of the CTR-656 6-Axis CNC Center Drive Lathe, which consists of a B&O CTR-656 6-Axis CNC Center Drive Lathe, a Fanuc R2000iB1165F Robot, and a Hexagon Global 7.10.7 Advantage CMM.
The October 6th Open House boasted even more visitors than the first. In addition to demos of the Rotating Head Cut-Off Machine, guests at the second Open House also saw demonstrations of the CNC Hydraulic Cylinder Manufacturing Systems. Tom Van Horne, Sales Engineer for CNC Turning Products, noted, "We are showing a 3.50" capacity Piston Rod Manufacturing System and a 5.00" capacity Hydraulic Cylinder Tube Manufacturing System."
Brian Lane, VP of Sales, was pleased with the turnout for both events. "Turnout exceeded our expectations..." Lane said. "We see many very well-run companies that have managed their resources carefully through this period of time. As we move into the recovery phase, these organizations intend to emerge with new customers and new market share that they did not have a year and a half or two years ago. Plans are being made right now to make the necessary investment in manufacturing systems and factory automation to meet the needs of these new customers."
