Erickson's Uses Checkmate Asset Tracking Software
Erickson's is a full service restoration contractor that deals with fire, water, and flood damage. Equipment used on their jobs can cost as much as $10,000 and with multiple jobs in process, keeping track of their equipment was a big issue.
A major problem facing the construction and restoration industry is making sure all the equipment is retrieved from each job site. One restoration company boasted they had several competitors' blowers in their warehouse.
Erickson's has over 2,000 pieces of equipment, tools, and consumables that need to be tracked from the warehouse to trucks and out to the jobs. Once a job is complete, the equipment is either re-deployed to another job or sent back to the warehouse. If they are re-deployed, the system records the transfer and the data is uploaded via the cell network giving management real time information about the location of all equipment.
They found that CheckMate reduced the time it took to track where the equipment was as well as significantly reduce the loss of equipment that was deployed to the various locations.
