Barclad Sealing Washer Pressure Ratings Upgraded to 9,500 PSI

Wilmington, MA - Gaynor Industries is pleased to announce the successful completion of independent hydrostatic pressure testing for BarClad Sealing Washers. The results of the testing exceeded all expectations and have significantly upgraded the washers' psi ratings.

The product evaluations, conducted at Intertek's Cortland Safety Facility in Cortland, NY, were performed on all current sizes of BarClad 300 Series Stainless Steel Sealing Washers with Neoprene sealant. The hydrostatic pressure evaluations consisted of securing the BarClad sealing washer at one end of a hollow metal tube with a standard fastener to the suggested torque setting. Hydrostatic pressure was applied through the other end of the hollow tube up to a maximum 10,000psi or until product failure. The results were as follows:

BarClad Sealing Washers were previously rated to withstand up to 6,000psi hydrostatic pressure based on internal testing. Independent Laboratory Testing was able to upgrade the psi rating through the use of new equipment with higher psi capabilities while also validating prior results. BarClad Sealing Washers are designed to seal in/out moisture, vapors, liquids, chemicals, and pressurized air and are used in a variety of applications.
