Focus on Re-energizing the North American Glove Business
Restructuring of Perfect Fit Glove, Buffalo, NY Operations
Buffalo, NY -- Bacou-Dalloz, whose industry leading PPE brands include Miller® Fall Protection, Uvex® Safety Eyewear, and Howard Leight® Hearing Protection, announces plans to revitalize the Hand Protection business unit and focus on growth and profitability in the North American Market.
Recently, Perfect Fit Glove announced plans to streamline its product offering by rationalizing a number of slow-moving products that will improve the flexibility to respond to current market conditions. As a result of the current rationalization announcements, Steve Spotts, Vice President and General Manager, has announced a reorganization plan along with a work force reduction of 36 employees at the company's manufacturing facility in Buffalo, NY. This reorganization will strive to maximize production efficiencies and operational procedures.
This move is in preparation for completion of the final phase of integration of the Perfect Fit Glove product line into the main distribution center located in Columbus, Ohio. These changes, along with a focused effort on improving supply chain management within the organization will help increase service levels and on-time delivery. These plans include detailed inventory transition plans to ensure that service levels will be maintained.
Also, as part of the reorganizing and re-energizing plan, Perfect Fit will launch an exciting mix of new products within the palm-dipped glove family next month. These products will better enable Perfect Fit to serve the Market's needs and achieve the company's ongoing strategy of profitable growth. The launch is part of a broader effort to reinvest in product and market repositioning in order to grow market share in chosen market segments.
