BSA Welcomes Additional Industry Leaders to Committee Ranks

Glen Ellyn, IL - The Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) is pleased to welcome a number of distributor members and participating manufacturers to participate in the work of various association committees. BSA committees are the heart of the association, driving the BSA dialogue between industry leaders in distribution and manufacturing, developing key components of industry education, and promoting the association's mission as "the forum to enhance networking and knowledge sharing to promote the sale of bearings through authorized distributors."

The newest committee members are:
  • Long Range Convention Planning Committee: Mitch Bouchard, General Bearing Service, Inc.; Brian Negri, Jamaica Bearings Company, Inc.; and Ben Nations, Bearings & Drives, Inc.
  • Distributor/Manufacturer Relations Committee: Kevin Haffey, Standard Locknut, Inc.
  • Educational Services Committee: Tim Ertel, NSK Corporation and Brian Davis, Bearings & Drives, Inc.
  • Information Technology and Supply Chain Committee: Bill Shepard, BDI and Jennifer Belk, AMI Bearings, Inc.

BSA committees meet at the association's Fall and Winter Meetings, as well as at the Annual Convention. In addition to time away from their respective businesses to attend meetings, committee members often put in additional time on committee assignments. Despite these commitments, however, committee members regularly report that they get more from their participation than they give, citing the enhanced professional relationships they develop as a result of these activities.

The next meetings of BSA committees will be at the association's 2009 Fall Meeting, September 21-22, at the Hilton Suites Chicago-Magnificent Mile in Chicago, Illinois. Additional Fall Meeting information is available from the BSA website, www.bsahome.org or by calling the association at (630) 858-3838. Registration deadline is August 31.

BSA is an international service and educational organization of distributors representing a total of almost 100 companies distributing factory-warranted ball-, roller-, and anti-friction bearings and invited manufacturers of bearings and related products.
