BSA Attributes Growing Participation to Value of Networking in Current Economy

Glen Ellyn, IL-The Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) welcomed more distributors to its 2009 Winter Meeting than in previous years and expects to do the same at its upcoming 2009 Annual Convention, May 1-5 at the Hyatt Grand Cypress Hotel in Orlando. The association believes this is a clear indication of the importance of knowledge sharing and networking in this economic downturn.

BSA Annual Conventions are the only annual networking program attended by the highest level executives from the bearing industry. Association leaders are particularly aware of the networking opportunities that offer the ideal environment for current and future bearing industry leaders and decision makers to develop the business relationships that will help their companies prosper.

Attendees at the 2009 Annual Convention will participate in an especially insightful business program featuring the use of rapid-response technology and hear from a number of knowledgeable industry experts to help them and their companies weather the current economic storm:

o The honest, gut-check conversation between distributors and manufacturers that industry has needed, but never before achieved. The "Are Manufacturers From Mars, Distributors from Venus?" Business Session offers a unique opportunity to instantly and anonymously respond to Relationship, Trend and Solution questions and immediately view the aggregated responses onscreen.

o A panel of industry leaders from both distribution and manufacturing will analyze the results of those responses in a subsequent session.

o BSA has invited one of the country's foremost economic forecasters, Dr. Ken Mayland, to share his knowledge and economic and bearing forecast with BSA 2009 Convention
attendees.

o Bruce Warmbold, President and CEO of Schaeffler Inc., will deliver an update on the bearing industry from the perspective of the American Bearing Manufacturers Association.

o Steve Durston, Executive Vice President of Jamaica Bearings Company, Inc. and BSA President, will give an update on the bearing industry from the distributor perspective including data from the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 Distributor Reports.

BSA is the "must belong to organization for authorized bearing distributors." An international service and educational organization of distributors representing a total of almost 100 companies distributing factory-warranted ball-, roller-, and anti-friction bearings and invited manufacturers of bearings and related products, the association's mission says, "BSA is the forum to enhance networking and knowledge sharing and promote the sale of bearings through authorized distributors."
