Press release date: June 13, 2012

Wixom, MI, (www.blmgroup.com) a global leader in the manufacture of tube processing equipment will showcase its latest technology-a combined automatic sawing and end machining center for tube and bar processing in Booth E-4694 at IMTS '12, September 10-15, 2012, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL.

This will be the first time that BLM GROUP, a traditional fabricating equipment manufacturer will exhibit at IMTS.

The new technology, designated EM80, is an integrated CNC end machining center ideal for tube processing in order to cut, chamfer, face, bore, thread and profile.

The machine operates in several stages or stations. The first cuts the tube or bar to length, the second for turning operations such as roughing and finishing and the third stage for boring, tapping or measuring with part washing between. The unit comes with a bundle loader to handle up to 4,000kg and can be loaded at any time during the operation. A 'conveyor' brings the parts toward a two position chute to allow the parts to be dropped in to the appropriate bin. The conveyor also handles chip removal.

The EM80 handles tube diameters from 10 to 80mm and with wall thickness from 0.8 to 12mm and solid bar from 10 to 60mm. Bar stock lengths from 2500 to 120000mm. The blade cutting speed travels at 20m/min to 450m/min

BLM GROUP is a global leader in tube processing solutions. Its product line includes laser tube cutting, cold sawing, bending, end-forming and wire bending machines. With more than 50 years of tube experience and thousands of applications, the company is a leader in the manufacture of tube fabrication equipment. In addition to the EM80, BLM GROUP recently introduced the LT FIBER Laser Tube machine, the first automated laser tube cutting machine to utilize a fiber resonator. The system can process highly reflective materials such as brass, copper and aluminum and is also 30% faster in processing mild steel tubing.
