BIO to Host New Clean Tech Investor Sessions



First-Ever Investor Sessions added to program of World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology & Bioprocessing

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Industrial biotechnology companies are leading the drive to commercialize advanced biofuels and biobased products, generating jobs and economic growth. The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) today announced creation of a first-of-its-kind Clean Tech Investor Session Program, featuring industrial biotech companies. This new two-day clean tech investor program will be held June 28-29, during the 2010 World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology & Bioprocessing in Washington, DC.

Brent Erickson, executive vice president for BIO's Industrial and Environmental Section, stated, "BIO is proud to announce the first ever investor sessions at the World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology & Bioprocessing. Deployment of industrial biotechnology for advanced biofuels, biobased products, and chemicals made using renewable platforms can restore U.S. economic competitiveness in the sector, contribute to renewed, sustainable economic growth, and create or save jobs in the sector. Executives from emerging industrial biotechnology companies seeking investment and partnering opportunities will present their new technologies, accomplishments, milestones, value propositions and business cases for advanced biofuels and renewable chemical platforms. Innovative industrial biotechnology companies were selected to participate in this program based on their breakthrough clean technologies, bio-based consumer product strategies, and extensive intellectual property coverage."
