WASHINGTON – The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) today thanked Reps. Timothy Walz (D-Minn.), Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.), Ann Kuster, (D-N.H.), William Enyart (D-Ill.) and Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.) for sponsoring an amendment to provide mandatory funding to energy title programs in HR 1947, the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act of 2013.

Brent Erickson, executive vice president of BIO’s Industrial & Environmental Section, said, “We thank the members of the House Agriculture Committee who co-sponsored this amendment. The renewable energy programs of the Farm Bill have had a successful track record in supporting economic growth and employment opportunities in rural America.
