BIO Applauds Appointment of Rea as Deputy Director of U.S. PTO



WASHINGTON, D.C. (Friday, February 17, 2011) - The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) welcomed the announcement today of the appointment of Teresa Stanek Rea as Deputy Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO).

"Teresa Stanek Rea has an impressive background and tremendous experience dealing with issues of importance to the biotechnology industry," stated BIO General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Legal and Intellectual Property Tom DiLenge. "We look forward to working with her and Under Secretary David Kappos to further improve the operations of the PTO and to enhance the predictability, transparency, and certainty of the patent system to spur innovation and job growth."
