BIO Announces Keynote Speakers for Livestock Biotech Summit



2014 BIO Livestock Biotech Summit



WASHINGTON--The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announced today Dr. Calestous Juma, Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School and Dr. Jim Murray, Professor at the University of California at Davis will deliver the keynote addresses at the 2014 BIO Livestock Biotech Summit, which takes place September 16-18, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center in Sioux Falls, SD.



“As leaders in the field of using technology to feed the world, these gentlemen will provide attendees with a first-hand look at opportunities for animal biotechnology to positively impact people’s diets and health.”



This unique conference, focused on developing global solutions through animal biotechnology, will draw international attendees including researchers, regulators, investors, and industry executives and will feature sessions on the development of food and biomedical applications through animal biotechnology.



Dr. Juma is an internationally acclaimed expert on sustainable development and longtime advocate of meeting the food demands of a rapidly growing global population through biotechnology. He will deliver the opening keynote address on September 16th on the role of biotechnology in feeding the world.



Known for his longtime contribution to field of genetically engineered (GE) animals, Dr. Murray will deliver the closing keynote address on September 18th. He has been instrumental in developing the animal biotechnology community through his research and his Transgenic Animal Research Conference, at which cutting edge research is discussed by experts from around the world.
