With one-third of attendees being international, 2013 BIO International Convention will host range of programming focused on opportunities within emerging markets and strategies for growing global biotech industry. Event takes place April 22–25, 2013 in Chicago, IL. In comment, BIO president and CEO Jim Greenwood noted economic priority and resource allocation given biotehnology by many countries and called their participation "vital in presenting a global meeting for the biotech community."

The global event for biotech to take place in Chicago, IL April 22-25, 2013
WASHINGTON--With one-third of all attendees international, the 2013 BIO International Convention will host a wide range of programming focused on new opportunities within emerging markets and strategies for growing the global biotech industry. Hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the Convention, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will take place April 22-25, 2013 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.

The emerging markets are becoming increasingly attractive as governments implement national strategies for biotechnology growth and development. The Spotlights on the BRICs program will be held Monday, April 22nd and will highlight and explore the development strategies of the four BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) nations.
